MOMENTUM & PROVEN PERFORMANCE
mature cows that are all H and G model fall calving cows from our program including several donors, these along with select females from cooperative partners. These cows have formed the foundation for many top bulls and females sold in recent years. A catered dinner will follow. • Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., we move into the Cutting Edge Female Sale. This elite offering showcases the very best young females from our program, along with outstanding consignments from our partners and guest consignors. Many of these heifers are sired by the newest breed-leading bulls in our lineup, including Ledger,
Dear Friends,
The cattle industry is off to a record-setting start in the spring of 2026. Strong calf prices, solid salvage values for older cows and bulls, a tight supply of cattle, and robust consumer demand for beef have created exceptional market conditions across the country. We kicked off the year with a very successful Spring Bull Sale here in March and strong participation in the Briggs Tri Star event. We’re grateful for the momentum and thankful for the support of our customers and partners. At Cavender Ranches, we take pride in being a truly unique operation. As one of the
largest seedstock producers in the Brangus breed, we also run a substantial commercial cow-calf enterprise. We retain and feed all our own steers, frequently bid on our customers’ steers, and partner with NextGen Feedlot to market them. Last year alone, we marketed over 1,500 replacement females. We don’t just talk about performance—we prove it every day. Right now, we have 700 head of steers on feed as we prepare for this sale. Many of the commercial females in this offering will soon have brothers exiting the feedyard, and you can review our historical performance data in the catalog appendix. This year’s Annual Spring Female Sale features a high-quality offering with outstanding quantity and variety. We have a NEW FORMAT with the Commercial Female Sale on FRIDAY at 12:00 noon. We expect to sell approximately 250 pairs. These pairs include Brangus, Black Super Baldies, and F1 Black and Tiger Stripe females. The balance of the offering consists of heavy-bred females due to calve within the next few days to two weeks. We are also including about 100 fall-bred Brangus heifers that are 3–4 months pregnant and on track for early fall calves, along with a strong group of roughly 60 open Brangus heifers—big, stout, and ready to breed. On the registered side, this sale represents a true breed highlight for Brangus, featuring 153 lots and purebred females with 193 total selling with calves at side. • Friday evening at 5:00 p.m., we begin with our Mature Cow Sale, offering approximately 90 head selling in 50 lots of proven
Dialed In, True Balance, Never Before, Admiral, Ace of Spades, and other proven greats. These females have the potential to become future donors and significantly impact both large and small breeding programs. We’re especially excited about this group and sincerely thank our partners for consigning their best. Immediately following the Cutting Edge sale, we will hold our 3rd Annual Grass Time Sale with 23 more head. Bidders will have the opportunity to purchase groups of three registered heifers—sweeping the pen or selecting one, two, or all three— before the remaining heifers sell individually or in smaller groups. This is another solid set of females from elite sires and dams—an opportunity to buy in volume. We invite you to join us for this premier female event—the breed highlight of the spring season—on April 24th and 25th at Cavender Ranches. Our dedicated crew has done an outstanding job developing these females, and they are in excellent condition, ready to go to work and deliver success for you. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact our team: Mark Cowan, Todd Harvey, Dustin Kennedy, or our consultants Joe Fuller, Garrett Thomas, Clay Barnhouse, or myself. We look forward to seeing you at the ranch.
Best regards,
Joe Cavender, Cavender Ranches

customers, both registered and commercial, and highlight the genetics they are producing, many times out of sires and dams from the Cavender program. We are doubly excited this year because of the position the beef industry is in due to the short supply and the great demand for high quality beef establishing record prices for our cow calf producers and up the chain. This sale offering kicks off Friday April 24th at noon with over 650 commercial Brangus, Super Baldie and F1 heifers both Tigers and Blacks. Please note the new time on the commercial female sale. We will sell pairs, Heavy breds, Fall Bred and Open heifers in a truly high-quality offering. At 5:00 PM we will sell the mature cows and 3N1’s. GENERAL INFORMATION
CATTLE LOAD OUT Cattle will be available for load out immediately after the sale and proper settlement has been made on purchases. If you wish to loadout at a later date, please note that when you check-out. Arrangements can then be made to have your cattle ready when you arrive. SAVE ON SHIPPING AND HANDLING You can save shipping and handling charges by picking up semen that you will need for your fall or spring breeding season at the Cavender Ranches Sale at Cavender’s Neches River Ranch. Representatives from either Cavender Ranches or Integrated Breeders will be available to fill your orders. We would ask that you keep your orders to goblet increments of 5’s or 10’s so that we can avoid excessive handling of semen. Please contact Mark Cowan at 903-495- 4522 or Todd Harvey at 386-288-8059 to place your order prior to the sale to assure we have enough semen on hand and available on sale day. SALE ORDER The cattle will sell in sale order. We will have a printed sale order prior to the sale. Please note that commercial females will not be going through the ring and will be presented on video. GENETIC CONDITION POLICY Any animals that are confirmed as carriers of a genetic condition such as DD, developmental duplication, will be listed above their pedigrees as DDC. Any animals we are still waiting test results on will be listed DDPC. All other animals have been either confirmed free of known genetic conditions by test results or from pedigree analysis.
TRUSTED PERFORMANCE INFORMATION We are extremely dedicated to providing our customers the genetics needed to help positively impact their bottom line. We will not compromise the integrity of our data. Our goal remains to provide the information that will successfully identify the genetics most needed in your particular operation. The information provided by the IBBA was provided at weaning and yearling by the breeder for computation. We believe in EPD’s and realize they are only as good as the information going into the calculation. That is why we are careful with our contemporary groups and our reporting. Please realize that these cattle were in different contemporary groupings at weaning; therefore, it is not fair to compare birth, weaning and yearling weights from one herd to another. A wide range of environments are represented in this offering and thus have affected those weights, plus different management comes into play, i.e. creep fed vs. not creep fed. Within herd weights and ratios were good when that was the only information we had. However, EPD’s are a much better indicator of genetic potential and are the only way across herd comparisons can be made. Also, we have listed the current non-parent Brangus breed average EPD’s in the catalog for your reference and comparison on how individual lots compare to the average of the breed in any trait. ULTRABLACK The Ultrablack program has been a major success for us and an in-demand product for our commercial customers. Please note that we have noted the UB cattle in this catalog in the registration line of their pedigrees.
MAINTENANCE AFTER THE SALE
Cavender’s Neches River Ranch will work with customers on delivery of cattle in an effort to have the cattle delivered to customers as soon as possible after the sale. However, if you are not ready for the cattle at this time, we will maintain the cattle at the ranch for a period of time until you are ready for them. A nominal fee of $3.50 per day will be charged plus any veterinarian charges incurred will be billed. Cattle will be maintained on a growing ration in grass traps. Cattle become the buyer’s responsibility immediately after the sale. Cavender Ranches is not responsible for insurance costs or death. TRUCKING At the conclusion of the sale or as soon as possible following the sale if purchases are made via video or sight unseen agreement; please notify the sales staff as to specific instructions about cattle delivery. If you request our assistance the Cavender Ranches staff will make every effort to help coordinate the most reliable and economical trucking available. If you prefer to make your own arrangements Mike Cox Trucking or Darrel Pitchford will be available sale day to discuss your needs or we can place you in contact with other reliable truckers. Please note that the animals you purchase become your responsibility at time of purchase. Cavender Ranches nor any of the breeders involved in this sale take responsibility for animals that may be injured in transport. Insurance is available for those who would desire that coverage.

EPD’s
EPD PERCENTILE RANKINGS
GENOMICALLY ENHANCED EPD’s
EPDs Expected Progeny Difference (EPDs) is the best estimate of an animal’s genetic merit for a particular trait. It takes into account the animals’ own performance compared with its contemporaries and the performance of its relatives compared against their contemporaries. Birth Weight (BW) EPD predicts calf size and calving ease. Weaning Weight (WW) EPD predicts preweaning growth potential. Yearling Weight (YW) EPD predicts overall growth potential. Milk EPD predicts the maternal contribution to weaning weight of the calf through milk production, behavior, immunity and other maternal environmental factors. Total Maternal (TM) also, called M&G EPD predicts weaning weight of calves from a bull’s daughters. Scrotal Circumference (SC) EPD predicts not only testicular size of male progeny but also daughters onset of puberty. Terminal Index (TERM) combines birth weight, weaning weight, milk production, post wean gain, ribeye area, marbling, and back fat EPDs into a single number. The index is expressed as s standard deviation from the breed average, meaning that bulls with a +2 index are two standard deviations above
the average. Higher numbers are superior to low numbers. Fertility Index (FERT) combines heifer pregnancy, stayability, days to first calving, mature cow weight, and back fat EPDs into a single number. The index is expressed as s standard deviation from the breed average, meaning that bulls with a +2 index are two standard deviations above the average. Higher numbers are superior to low numbers. ULTRASOUND EPDs Ribeye Area (REA) EPD predicts total muscle. Intramuscular Fat (IMF) EPD predicts % of intramuscular fat which is highly correlated to marbling. *REA and FT are primary components of USDA YG and marbling is the primary component of USDA QG. PERFORMANCE Individual performance data is provided as supplementary information as EPDs provide more reliable evaluation of genetic differences of animals. Actual Birth Weight (BW) are reported. Weaning Weight (WW) are adjusted to 205 days. Yearling Weight (YW) are adjusted to 365 days. Scrotal Circumference (SC) is adjusted to 365 days.
Average Daily Gain (ADG) is a measure of growth rate on a high energy diet. It is positively associated with feed efficiency. Ribeye Areas (REA) are adjusted to 365 days and ratioed relative to contemporaries. Intramuscular Fat (IMF) are adjusted to 365 days and ratioed relative to contemporaries. IMF is highly correlated to marbling. Brangus EPDs are calculated by the Livestock Genetic Services and are part of a program called the National Cattle Evaluation (NCE). EPD PERCENTILE RANKINGS Individual ranking relative to the entire breed population on a specific trait, represented in the form of a percentage, with 1% being best and 99% being worst. DISPOSITION SCORING In the bull portion of this catalog we have included a disposition score for every Brangus & Ultrablack bull selling. 5 stars being the best and 1 being the worst. Please note the explanation of our scoring system below and contact Cavender Ranches with any questions you may have.
