• To ensure the compliant use of the College CAFM system to ensure good communications and service delivery for all parties, client, staff and Service desk. • Carry out internal audits in support of the E&F Compliance team. • Support the Campus Operations Managers and attend meetings as necessary. • Attend meetings of the Asset Maintenance Management team. • Ensure that O&M’s are current and available to all management, DEL staff and contractors. • Assist in the appointment and training of electrical, mechanical, building trade staff and maintenance assistants. • Ensure good teamwork and high morale is maintained. • The effective control, direction and management of the Direct Labour to optimise efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness. • Advise on maintenance requirements of new plant and to ensure proper familiarisation of staff on new plant and equipment. • Ensure effective communications with Heads of Departments and Managers regarding maintenance work and associated services; plan work to minimize disruption and inconvenience to building users. • Advise the Head of Depts & Managers and the Engineering & Maintenance team of the requirement to alter any maintenance procedures or specifications in the light of operating experience. • To be responsible for the updating of the COSHH assessment data for all designated working areas. • To be involved in promoting and maintaining good internal relations within the University and to liaise with Schools, Faculties and Departments regarding proposed operational maintenance work. • Deputise for the Chief Engineering Officer when required.
