doctor, was a passionate historian and author of several books on Spring Lake. “You have to step away to realize what you have here,” Judge reflects on her time living in the Midwest. “Spring Lake is a hidden gem.” Judge’s father was a Spring Lake man, born and raised, who left only to attend medical school and serve in the Navy. He returned after this and opened his practice, operating right out of the Judge’s family home. Judge’s connection to Spring Lake runs deep. Growing up in the town, she was exposed to its unique charm and rich history. Her father instilled in her a deep appreciation for the town’s beauty and its people. CAPTURING SPRING LAKE’S BEAUTY Judge’s photography primarily focuses on the breathtaking beach sunrises of Spring Lake. Over the past four years, Judge has honed her skills and evolved her style, capturing the essence of Spring Lake in every shot. While Judge primarily uses her phone for photography, she is considering investing in a professional camera to further enhance her work. Her future goals include expanding her product line to feature other towns. She is also committed to keeping her prices affordable, ensuring that her artwork is accessible to everyone. Judge’s advice to aspiring photographers is to be fearless and open to new adventures. “Don’t be afraid to share your photos, even if you’re not a professional,” she says. “You never know what people are going to like.” Through her photography and products, Martha Judge is not only capturing the beauty of Spring Lake but also sharing her love for the town with others. S pring Lake has long been a generation resident, this inspiration has blossomed into a thriving business, showcasing the town’s natural beauty through her photography. Judge’s journey began in 2020 when she adopted her rescue dog, Darby. Early morning walks to the beach led her to capture stunning sunrises, which she then shared with her siblings. Encouraged by their positive feedback, source of inspiration for many. For Martha Judge, a fourth-

Working at Main Pharmacy, she is able to meet and interact with many members of the community. Her photos were recently shown in the sidewalk sale and will be exhibited at the Community House’s Art Show, next summer. A COMMUNITY CONNECTION After recognizing a need for unique postcards at the local Main Pharmacy, Judge began creating postcards featuring her photographs. The success of these postcards inspired her to expand her product line to include placemats, magnets, notecards, and tea towels. Through her photography, Judge is very involved in the community.
