Wesselman Woods This plot of old-growth forest is the largest tract of virgin, old-growth forest within any city limits in the United States. As an Indiana Nature Preserve and National Natural Landmark, Wesselman Woods is a surviving remnant of Southern Indiana’s original forests. Within the preserve, you will find one of the largest Nature Playscapes in the country.

Howell Wetlands As one of only five urban wetland parks in Indiana with fresh mulch and plentiful boardwalks, this is the perfect trail for all climates. Even though it is located in the city, it impressively showcases a diversity of wetland habitats across 35 acres of urban wetlands. USI Trails The University of Southern Indiana is home to miles of multi-use, scenic trails. The 14-acre campus is open to students and for public use.
