NEW HARMONY’S ATHENEUM Historic New Harmony’s Atheneum houses visitor information, the Museum Shop, and is the starting point for their guided walking tours of historic structures. In the Atheneum there are exhibits on the communal history of New Harmony, a large theater where an orientation film on the town is shown. EVANSVILLE AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM Located in one of the nation’s first housing projects, Lincoln Gardens was built in 1938 under President Roosevelt’s New Deal Program and is now a museum celebrating the struggles, successes and experiences of the African American culture in Evansville over the past 80 years.
