Cross-Cultural Competence Culture is more than food, music, art and clothing. Culture has been defined as a system of shared beliefs and values, customs, and behaviors. Cross-cultural competence, also known as 3C, refers to the knowledge, skills and motivation that enables a person to adapt effectively among people whose beliefs, values, customs, and behaviors differ from theirs. Cross-cultural competence in the workplace is important to an employer because it helps to make a workplace harmonious and productive. Employers want their employees to be effective in an international work environment. Ever wondered if you have the ability to develop cross-cultural competence?
