With a frame made of aluminum, 559 is the Univet device that provides the most advanced protection, making it ideal for operators using high-power lasers. During specific operations or treatments that require the use of laser instruments, also the patient may be affected to radiation harmful for the eyes. To avoid the associated risks, Univet developed two specific glasses, blind or with selected laser filters, that ensure patient safety. Washable, sterilizable and equipped with interchangeable parts, they are the ideal solution for clinics and surgeries.

UNIVET LASER FILTERS QUICK CHART
The laser protection windows, made of plastic material or glass, are used as observation screens in machinery and industrial plants. The operator can monitor the production process and, at the same time, is protected from laser radiation. The most common models are available from our catalo- gue. Upon customer request we can also manufacture the windows in many different formats. The Univet protection windows are EN207 and/or EN12254 certified in order to guarantee the required optical density and to keep the expected level of protection in case of exposure to laser radiation. CERTIFICATION
All the Univet laser safety windows are certified according European standard EN207 “Personal eye-protection equipment. Filters and eye-protectors against laser radiation (laser eye-protectors)”. This norm requires the measurement of the optical density (OD) and the fullfillment of the stability to laser radiation test. At the conclusion of the certification process an independent Notified body issues an official EU-type certificate. Selected products are tested with a laser damage test based on a time base of 10 seconds, instead of the 5 seconds requested by EN207. In addition, European standard EN12254 “Screens for laser working places. Safety requirements and testing” is in some cases used. This norm uses a different time base (100 seconds) and a higher power/ energy density for stability to laser radiation test compared to EN207.
MARKING
Marking according European standards EN207 and/or EN12254 is applied on every laser safety window. Depending on the dimensions of the window and the length of the marking, different styles are used.
SHAPE AND DIMENSIONS
Univet only and exclusively supplies windows ready for installation, which shall not be cut or shaped by the user.
RESPONSIBILITY Laser safety windows are certified according to European standards: the user is not authorized in any case to cut, shape or modify what is supplied. This action will lead to the instant decay of the certification, to a complete assumption of responsibility by the user and to a pos- sible action by Univet for tampering with a certified product.
CUSTOMIZED SHAPE Univet is pleased to supply windows cut according to customized shapes, including radius or holes. Maximum dimensions are defined in the following table. A 2D file shall be provided for evaluation of feasibility and for production: autocad ‘dwg’ or ‘dxf’ files are requi- red, ‘pdf’ or ‘jpg’ file are not acceptable. Univet may ask additional information or values if the information reported in the 2D file are not complete or correct.
