Inov8 Systems Ltd

Inov8 Systems was founded in 2016 by recognised instrumentation innovators to leverage next-generation sensing innovation and create novel technologies, and industrial solutions, for on-line/in-process water analytical measurement. In fact, its mission statement is very clear: ‘To develop and produce the world’s most innovative instrumentation and control systems with the Best Market Value Proposition to dominate the analytical water measurement market.’ After two-and-a-half years of development, in January 2019, first products were launched, and the core senior management team was in place to introduce the products to markets. The products were truly innovative and introduced features to on-line process water analytical measurement markets that had not been there previously. The response was immediate and, within one year, sales had been made to North America,

South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Middle East. Growth continues, year on year, but not at the expense of innovation, with new products being released regularly, and multiple patents granted: all conceived, developed and manufactured in Northern Ireland. ipTEST

LearnSci

ipTEST manufactures testing equipment that is widely used in the manufacture of electric vehicles and ensures they operate reliably and safely. High power electronic chips are essential components in electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, delivering power to the motors and returning it to the battery during braking. ipTEST’s testers perform advanced checks on these chips before they are integrated into vehicles. Very high voltages and electrical currents are applied, which exceed what the chips will experience during normal driving conditions, ensuring they can keep up with everyday use.

LearnSci has a collective mission to transform science education and empower teaching teams to inspire the next generation of STEM graduates. The Bristol-based company achieves this by providing advanced digital solutions that enhance scientific skills development to university educators in over 200 departments worldwide.

Founded in 2007, the team of scientists, web developers, designers and learning specialists create interactive, problem-solving lab simulations (LabSims) and advanced digital worksheets (Smart Worksheets) which enable self-led learning. Its learning technology accelerates teaching innovation, helps prepare graduates for industry careers, and widens access to science globally. The company also supports its worldwide community of educators by providing opportunities to share best practice, connect with one another and collaborate on innovative teaching methods. LearnSci’s Founding Directors Bill Heslop, John Eastman and Tony Baldwin say: “It’s especially pleasing to be recognised for innovation in education as this underpins everything we do in the company to create better and more inclusive opportunities for teaching and learning.”
