portant materials for people in various parts of the world. Accepting the chal lenge to reach the illiterate people of the world grasping for truths to read for themselves, this organization has prepared and distributed large num bers of publications. As Dr. and Mrs. Webb look back upon the past three decades of broad casting the Gospel, they recall a poem out of his scrapbook which tells the story of the Lord’s leading in his life: “When God wants to drill a man And thrill a man—and skill a man; When God wants to mold a man To play the noblest part; “When He yearns with all His heart To create so great and bold a man, That all the world shall be amazed, Watch His methods, watch His way. “How He ruthlessly perfects Whom He royally elects; How He hammers him and hurts him And with mighty blows converts him. “ Into trial shapes of clay which Only God understands; While his tortured heart is crying And he lifts beseeching hands. “ How He bends, but never breaks When His good He undertakes; How He uses whom He chooses And with every purpose fuses;

foreign missionary radio stations. Re cently more than $40,000 was furn ished by the organization for a new 100,000 watt radio transmiter to beam the Gospel to the spiritually needy people on the China mainland. Large numbers of small pre-tuned radio re ceivers have been purchased for vari ous missions. These “portable mission aries” are used in remote villages where men and women, and boys and girls are able to hear the gospel, many of them for the very first time. In addition to their interest in mis sionary radio, The Bible Fellowship Hour Family has helped to print im

a Roman Catholic. Dissatisfied with her previous religious experience, however, she readily listened to Dr. Webb explain the Scriptures and re late his testimony of conversion. “ As a sheaf of ripened grain,” Dr. Webb recalls, “ she was ready to be gathered into the Lord’s harvest.” Several months later they were united in mar riage, as well as in their plans for serving the Lord. Since that time(they have walked hand in hand in the Lord’s service. Letters and telephone calls contin ued to overwhelm the staff of the newly formed Bible Fellowship Hour. (Many of the original staff are still with the organization.) As the min istry grew, facilities became more crowded. In 1934, the Webbs moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where the pro gram was heard over a network of seven stations throughout the state. Later, other larger stations throughout the Midwest were added until the area was blanketed with the Gospel. The next move came in 1941 to Tulsa, and then, because of advantages in broadcast production, to California. The ministry of “ The Bible Fellow ship Hour,” while headed by Dr. Webb, is governed by a board of directors composed of dedicated pas tors and laymen. The central theme of the entire ministry has been “ to contend earnestly for the faith, once delivered unto the saints.” Favorite musical selections are performed by a trio, quartet, ensemble and chorale, all composed of dedicated and talented singers and musicians. In more recent years, “The Bible Fellowship Hour” has been largely dedicated to lending assistance to

“ By every act induces him To try His splendor out, GOD KNOWS WHAT HE’S ABOUT.”

Special features for the program are care fully produced by Dr. Webb with Mr. Thomas Sheffrey, engineer Whitney Stu dios, at the controls. Long hours of work are put in to prepare five programs each week. The broadcasts are heard on a net work of selected stations around the world.

Rev. Robert Bowman, director of Far East Broadcasting Company, gratefully receives a check from Dr. Webb for a new trans mitter in the Orient. The Bible Fellowship Hour constantly seeks to challenge listen ers with missionary projects particularly related to radio.
