The Way, The Truth, and The Life Ralph Pallen Coleman’s Paintings of the Old and New Testaments Reproduced in Color With Interpretations by Elizabeth Morton Every year there are new books of Bible stories with colored illustrations. The publishers of this volume have endeavored to produce a volume that would be equally interesting to juven iles and adults. The pictures are all full-page spreads. These are printed on beautiful grained paper and the printing is attractively and clearly done. Interpretation brings into a more realistic appreciation of the people and events of Bible times, departing as it does from some of the traditional materials of art and picking up more of the forms now available to us through archaeological discoveries. The book comes in a plastic jacket in side a slipcase. 120 pages; cloth; John C. Winston Co., Philadelphia. For young people between the ages of fourteen and eighteen the authors have endeavored to deal with ado lescent life and problems in terms that they will understand but also in harmony with scientific knowledge in psychology and personality develop ment. The message is oriented toward providing confidence and ability to push forward, as all youth wants to do, but to do it successfully and in a way that will be accepted. Self analytical tests are presented with practical suggestions on how to rem edy deficiencies and strengthen good virtues. There is no dodging of little talked about matters. The authors feel that only by understanding themselves first can young people handle them selves properly. There is appeal to en ter into a real faith and relationship to God, but the place of Christ and the Holy Spirit in the work of salva tion and Christian living are not de veloped. More Power To You By John and Dorothea Crawford

The Life Of Our Divine Lord By Howard F. Vos Instead of taking up the narrative of Christ’s earthly ministry like most lives of our Lord do, Dr. Vos adopts a different approach. He has only one chapter on the narrative itself, hut devotes eleven other chapters to such topics as the historicity of Jesus Christ, His person, message, parables, mira cles, relatives and friends, prophecies, present ministry, and future activity. The final chapter is concerned with the example of Christ as a factor in the Christian life. The unique diety of Christ is maintained, and of course the full inspiration of the Scripture text is assumed. The nature of treat ment here puts this book into the field of biblical theology as an introductory manual to the doctrine of Christ, as well as serving as a handy supple ment to studies in His life. The author has studied at Wheaton College, Dal las Theological Seminary, Southern Methodist University, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern Uni versity. He is now on the faculty of Moody Bible Institute. 223 pages; cloth; Zondervan Publishing House, Grand Rapids; $3.50. Bible Game Reissued Twenty-five years ago, as a child, my wife discovered an easy way to memorize important names, places, and events from the Bible. It was a game that her family and many others like them greatly enjoyed. Since that time, because of a solid Bible-training background, each of the six children has attended Biola. The game, Bible-Lotto, has recently been reissued by The Pengad Com panies, Inc., 845 Broadway, Bayonne, New Jersey. Today, in a second generation, I watch my wife teaching our three children these same vital truths from the Bible with our new edition of Bible-Lotto. Contact the Biola Book Room, 560 South Hope Street, Los Angeles 17, California, for your set. Children of all ages will not only en joy the game but also derive much spiritual benefit from the Bible names, places, and events they will learn thereby. —A1 Sanders
