King's Business - 1960-10

With love and patience, the evange list explained the meaning of it, and fully presented the way of salvation. The young man went to a chair and picked up the Marathi language Bible. For two hours he read uninter rupted. Next morning he returned for another two hours of Bible reading, and each day he has been coming to read God’s Word. Now he is asking pertinent questions that reveal a deep- seated hunger for Christ. The Bible is our best seller in the bookshop. This week a gentleman from a very wealthy community came in to buy a Hindu Bible. He told the clerk that he was studying it pri vately. The reading room evangelist says he has never seen people from these educated classes reading the Word of God in such numbers as they are doing. Truly God has raised up our bookshop reading room for such a time as this!

Dhoke, is a Bible-trained evangelist, converted out of Hinduism, and with unusual gifts in this type of ministry. His personable manner, plus a deep concern for the salvation of his Indian brethren, has been a contributing factor to the increased numbers com ing each day. The silent witness of posters declar ing who Christ is has been a means of opening conversation on spiritual lines. The first week a young man was immediately attracted to a large poster of an eye— the eye of God look ing down upon the broad and narrow roads of life. He went over and studied it. The evangelist had prayed that morning, “ Lord, lead me to some needy soul today.” Toward evening, seeing this young man examining the poster, he realized that this was the answer to his prayer. Approaching the young man, he asked if he knew what the poster meant. The visitor admitted he didn’t.
