AI Guide For Boards in Singapore

AI GUIDE FOR BOARDS IN SINGAPORE Section V: Organisational Resilience and Capability

Chapter 9: Ensuring AI and Digital Resilience

Digital resilience is a core foundation for scalable AI adoption. It ensures that enterprise systems, data operations and governance remain secure, reliable and trusted under changing conditions and emerging threats.

Attack surfaces expand as AI systems ingest external data, interact with third- party applications and operate through increasingly interconnected digital ecosystems. Resilience must therefore be embedded by design rather than retrotted aer deployment.

AI has altered the traditional security and operational model.

9.1 Digital Resilience at the Core

Boards should oversee AI and cyber security as interconnected governance priorities rather than separate agendas. If AI ambition increases faster than digital resilience, the organisation may unknowingly accumulate operational, security, governance and trust decits across every new AI deployment.

AI adoption expands the enterprise attack surface, deepens dependencies on cloud and digital infrastructure, and embeds automated decision-making into core workows. As a result, digital resilience must be a priority in board governance of AI, directly linked to enterprise trust, continuity and competitiveness.
