DEPAK Commis Chef, Qantas Lounges by Accor Cookery, became a Cook working across all areas of our Lounges, and once my studies were done I was promoted to Breakfast Chef. Today, I am a Commis Chef working autonomously in our most premium lounge, The Chairman’s Lounge, and even cross-training in our International First Class Lounge. I joined the Qantas Lounges as a casual Kitchenhand in 2017 while I was studying for my Masters in IT - but then I fell in love with cooking! So I switched my study to Commercial

I have lived in New Zealand for thirteen years but I was born in Paris where I started my hospitality career at seventeen years old, working and studying to become a chef. After my apprenticeship I was a Commis Chef in a 300-room Parisian airport hotel, a Head Chef in a 110-room Birmingham conference hotel, an Assistant General Manager and I spent nine years in the UK, learning the ropes of hotel management across every department from Finance to Housekeeping and Maintenance, and from F&B to Front Office, HR, Sales & Marketing. This experience set me up for my next move, New Zealand! In 2009, I joined the Mercure Wellington as a Duty Manager soon becoming Conference Sales Manager and then looking after F&B as well.

ARNAUD Development Business Manager Auckland Office My next step was to the Sebel Auckland Manukau in Sales & Marketing before joining the NZ Commercial team in 2021 where I now look after our corporate clients providing support to our hotels with ANAIS and Cvent systems. In 2012, I worked with CQ Hotels in Wellington, rejoining Accor in late 2016 when I followed my future wife, and mother of our three children, to Auckland, becoming Conference & Sales Manager at the Novotel Ellerslie. This experience SET ME UP FOR MY NEXT MOVE, NEW ZEALAND.
