spreading THE LOVE Pullman Magenta Shores, NSW Megan and Nathan’s long-awaited wedding was set for March despite recent lockdowns. When the big day arrived, our hotel was busy with all the bridal party staying with us for a celebratory weekend. All the bridal party, but one. The bride’s father couldn’t afford to stay with us with his new wife and two children. But as they had travelled many hours to attend the wedding they asked if there was a space they could change into their wedding outfits. Our front desk receptionist immediately gave them access to the golf members locker room, but thought there was more we could do! And we sure could. We were thrilled to offer the family a 2-bedroom villa with our compliments so they could get ready and enjoy the wedding, the night, the celebrations and breakfast the next day with the whole family. As our receptionist delivered this news there were tears and hugs all around for such a special moment. We were grateful that we had the opportunity to help a family make memories on such a special day. It reminded all of us of why we do what we do.

fondest OF MEMORIES Sofitel Brisbane Central, QLD While checking in Sandra, I noticed it was her birthday during her stay. I wished her a happy birthday and asked if she had any plans for the day. Sandra explained that this was her first birthday since the death of her husband so she was treating herself to a weekend in the city and time with her kids. On the day of her birthday, I arranged a Sofitel teddy, a candle and a happy birthday chocolate plate with a handwritten note from me saying: The one thing you will want today is a hug from your husband. This teddy isn’t a replacement, but I do hope he helps . Sandra found me the next morning and said that although it was a hard day, the teddy and our thoughtfulness really helped - and she had a great day with her family.
birthday TWINS Novotel Perth Murray Street, WA
Two weeks before my birthday I was entering an international flight manifest and noticed one of the guests heading into quarantine with us, shared the same birthday date. A week later, on a guest request call I realised it was the same guest, so I was able to start a lovely conversation about being born on 24 November. I also discovered that we both grew up in country towns, and that we both love pancakes! As the 24th approached, I hatched a plan to get him pancakes for breakfast to brighten up his quarantine. He loved them so much he even posted a photo of them on social media with a big shout-out to our team!
