Heartists CREATE BELONGING, TOGETHER Novotel & ibis Sydney Darling Harbour & Harbour Rocks Hotel by MGallery, NSW When Ava’s mum asked us to help make her six year-old daughter’s dying wishes come true, we were honoured to help. And when the Pearces arrived – Ava, her mum and three siblings, Freya, Charlie and Brenna, it was love at first sight! Over the next week we discovered some of Ava’s favourite things and we used our ever-growing insights, to create amazing experiences from celebrating Ava’s Taronga Zoo trip by making her room into a jungle to bringing her love of whales to life with an ‘under the sea’ room makeover complete with mermaid braids. We got other venues and partners involved making memories everywhere with the Harbour Rocks Hotel creating a ‘ghost story’ night in the Rocks and a Love Bomb donation to Ava’s bucket list of $2,000. But what the Pearces said they loved most, was the little moments of love and warmth with our team members across all the hotels. They had become part of our Accor family, and we wanted to recognise this – so as we said farewell, we officially welcomed the Pearce's children to the Accor family with their very own Novotel name badge and bernache pin. They will be forever welcome at Accor.

We had a lot of fun hosting two amazing drag queens, American reality TV stars from Rupaul’s Drag Race known as A’Whora and Tayce, giving them a welcome they will never forget! Taking advantage of our mirrored walls, we illustrated the room with queen quotes and caricatures. Obviously they loved it - and shared it on their socials to over a million followers! This was their first time in Australia, so we also made them feel welcome with local and Australian goodies like caramello koalas, tim tams, cold brew, vegemite snacks and organic juices. We’ve even secured future reservations with other talent who can’t wait to get the royal treatment at The Cullen!
