As you age, your doctor may recommend cutting back on your salt and saturated fat intake as well. Try to eat three meals a day to get the necessary nutrients and a few snacks in between to keep your energy levels up. Without energy, you won’t find yourself moving around much! 2. Exercise Regularly. Exercise can help increase appetite, which can make eating regular meals a bit easier on people who don’t find themselves remembering to sit down for mealtimes. You might even want to get a dog so that you have a reason to go on more walks outside! 3. Maintain a healthy weight. Weight gain can cause several issues for you no matter how old you are, but it’s especially important as you get older to make sure you aren’t putting unnecessary stress on your body. The higher your blood pressure is, the higher your weight will be as well. Eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, and remembering to get physical activity every day is key to maintaining a healthy weight, and setting yourself up for success as you get older.
