While the base of Chesser House with its brick facade dates back to colonial times, the 12-story, monolithic office block with its reflective, blue glass facade is a legacy of postmodernism. The redesign of the facade and lobby in the plinth building, which juts out at the front, produced a modern reception area and boosts the identity of the whole ensemble.
The interactive lightbox, which appears to float above the entrance, is a particular eye-catcher. At nighttime, its alternating colors shine out onto the street and it also attracts people’s attention to the interior.
