The building (Mensing Timofticiuc architects) won Lower Saxony’s State Prize for Architecture. It’s lower toward the back and the arrow-slit windows make it resemble an impregnable modern fortress on the outside.
On the inside, the U-shaped building with its glazed facades opens up to the spacious, communal inner courtyard. In good weather, it’s used as somewhere to eat and drink, work or hold events in.
