When my grandfather founded a small chair factory near Hanover in north Germany in 1907, he could never have guessed that it would turn into a company with an international reputation for designing first-class contract furniture one day. A family-run company like ours couldn’t wish for a better recommendation than when architects, designers, partners and customers from all over the world repeatedly choose Wilkhahn solutions for such a wide range of different requirements. Although all these parties are so diverse, they have one thing in common. They share our conviction that people’s well-being and health are just as important as fostering collaboration. They believe that a clear and consistent design language helps to convey identity. And alongside profitability, they want us to help ensure their organizations are sustainable in tomorrow’s world too. In other words, they also believe in the power of good design. Whether it’s a question of encouraging movement in digital workspaces, or backdrops that foster team building, learning, innovation and change – the quality of design has been shown to play a key role in how well an organi- zation performs financially. Together, we want to offer attractive solutions that last and last for the generations after us. And architects and designers know all about this responsibility. We’d like to express our thanks to everyone who chose Wilkhahn and allowed us to publish details about their projects. Our goal is to make sure that our products reflect the requirements of all sorts of design concepts. Our products are understated, yet sophisticated and fulfill their purpose in the best possible way. We hope you find this brochure and its journey through a range of organizations, companies, continents and cultures inspir- ing. The desire to design sustainable and better environments is the common denominator throughout.

Regards

Jochen Hahne
