Toxicology TOX
“Confidence in the measurement of a range of biological materials” Toxicological analyses may be undertaken on biological specimens, predominantly blood, serum, and urine. Analyses can be undertaken for a range of substances including prescription and non-prescription drugs, illicit drugs, and alcohol. It is essential for laboratories, clinicians and toxicologists using the data that results are meaningful and accurate. At AXIO Proficiency Testing, we recognise the importance of ensuring quality in toxicology analyses. This is why we designed the AXIO Toxicology Scheme (TOX) to provide an independent performance assessment of laboratories undertaking clinical and/or forensic toxicological analytical services. The operation of our TOX scheme is supported by an Advisory Group consisting of members of professional bodies, scheme participants, and others experienced in the field. The scheme reports on the performance of UK participants (who have clinical responsibilities) to the National Quality Assurance Advisory Panels for Chemical Pathology.
