Public accounting firms hire candidates who meet the educational requirements for CPA licensure . Tobe
licensed in Georgia ,
you must have 150 semester hours ,
including 30 hours of accounting and 24 hours of
general business credits .
The typical undergraduate degree is 120 hours ,
so many students pursue a Master of
Accounting to get to the 150 hours required for licensure .
InGeorgia ,
students can sit for the CPA exam before obtaining the 150 hours . To sit ,
students must have an
undergraduate degree and 20 hours of upper level accounting .
