disciple, John, standing near the cross. To His mother He said, “ Woman, behold thy son” , and to John said, “ Behold thy mother” . John took Mary into his home from that day on. Even in His suffering, God’s Son did not forget to care for his beloved mother, Mary. After Jesus’ ascension into Heaven, Mary was with the group who waited in the upper room in obedience to their Lord’s command to await the coming of the Holy Spirit upon them. There are religions today who worship and pray to Mary. Such worship and praying is sin. However, all of us can respect and admire this woman who did much in a human way to raise her eldest Son, our Saviour, to do His Father’s work.
in the activities of her little village. Eagerly she watched the growth of her children. Always she noticed that her eldest Son, Jesus, was unlike the rest in one way in particular—He never had to be scolded for disobedience: He never sinned! She remembered the message of the angel who had announced His birth to her: “ Thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins” . One day Mary attended a wedding in Cana and saw her Son turn the water into wine. She had said unto the servants, “ Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” . It was His first miracle and she had trusted Him completely. The day of the crucifixion, fhe Saviour saw His mother and His most beloved
(Continued from Page 3) I am writing to tell you of the happi ness I have received from The King’s Business. As a college student, I do not have time to condense all the news for my self, so I really enjoy Dr. Orr’s The Bible in the News. Last night the May issue was for warded to me by my mother. I sat down and feasted on the first half of the book. One of your questions in the Question Box dealt with John 8:34, 35; the answer you gave was a direct answer to prayer for me. Now that I really know the answer to the difference between “ a servant” and “ a son” , the Lord can use me to com fort those who have been taught that they must be “ saved” each time they do wrong. I am very glad that your February magazine contained the article on Mor- monism as I was able to give it to a col lege friend who had been influenced to leave her “ parents’ religion” in favor of the Mormon belief. Now both she and I have really revived our faith and with the help of the wonderful Holy Spirit are living minute by minute for our Lord and Saviour. — E loise J a m e s San Jose, Calif. I would like to mention the blessings we receive from your publication, The King’s Business. We have had it in our home for many years, reading it from cover to cover, and am always looking forward to the next edition. Christ be ing exalted makes it ever new, for the message o f our Lord and Saviour is always revealing something new to our hearts and such we find in your maga zine. Wish it could be in every home. — M r s . E . L. K ip e n a Seattle, Wash. We enjoyed Aunt Theresa Worman’s story, “ Not so Silly” , in The King’s Business. We would enjoy some more of them. We like Dr. Wilson’s stories, too, along with the other features. — M r . a n d M rs . T u n tla n d s Los Angeles, Calif. I have just read the April issue of The King’s Business and cannot tell you what a wonderful magazine it is. I sent in six new subscriptions . . . it seems this is the only way I’m able to help in winning souls. — M r s . R obert W in te r Yucaipa, Calif. I was so blessed by the article in The King’s Business, “ God’s River.” God bless you and keep you. — H . C loudas Los Angeles, Calif. T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S
