no longer trusted in himself and what he might be able to do, but rather trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is truly the work of God in a man's heart. The things to which man holds can really keep him from Christ who is our only hope. You will not be in heaven because you are a faithful supporter of worthwhile causes. You will not be in heaven because you are a good neighbor to those about you. You will only be in heaven because you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour. You must realize that nothing apart from Jesus Christ will ever give you entrance into God's presence (John 14:6). So Paul writes the word "loss" over everything that he had been trusting in before he accepted Jesus Christ. Under the assets he puts the Saviour's name. The Apostle came in contact with the glorified Christ. Because of this he counted everything else but loss. No one Page 35
