laying aside His outward mantle of glory, He fulfilled God's will to the very letter. Lastly Paul wants to know Christ so completely that he might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. He certainly was not afraid of his eternal security (Romans 8:38-39). He was confident that the One who had begun a good work in him would perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:16). Ac tually he is saying that he wished to be so much like Jesus Christ in the way he lived that people would think of him as a resurrected per son even now, before his own physical death. He wanted to be able to give the spiritually dead a preview of eternal life in action. Would this be our spiritual desire as a believer? This is what would most please the Saviour. If the Lord can change Saul into Paul, Simon into Peter, John, the Son of Thun der into the Evangelist, He can turn you and me into His faithful fol lowers. If you will only receive Him as your Saviour and Lord, He can transform you into the kind of per son in whom His holy and loving character can be viewed by those about you. This is God's greatest purpose in saving you.
