First Tee offers more than golf lessons for kids: we offer life lessons.

North Coast Youth Golf Association Mission: To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Vision: To provide the programs and opportunities developed by the First Tee to all young people of the California North Coast area. In doing so, we will expose the virtues and positive foundations of the game of golf to all young people regardless of social economic condition. We will reach out to our public schools, after-school organizations (such as the Boys and Girls Clubs and others) and other youth service organizations so their youth can benefit from The First Tee programs and opportunities. The First Tee North Coast: The First Tee North Coast will be the local chapter for The First Tee national and implement the founding nine core values of life skills for the youth on the North Coast. These nine core values are: responsibility, sportsmanship, perseverance, confidence, judgement, honesty, respect, courtesy and integrity. The First Tee programing is designed to teach and show the nine core values through the game of golf. firstteenorthcoast.org

Goatlandia does not purchase prosthetic limbs for goats as they have not worked well in the past. The organization does utilize advanced diagnostics and innovative medical treatments in animal care. Goatlandia partners with Sonoma Marin Veterinary Service and North Bay Farm Veterinary Service, both in Petaluma, for its large animals. It takes its chickens and dogs to Memorial Beach Veterinary Hospital in Healdsburg. “Our vets teach us how to perform a lot of services, from taking the temperature of animals to administering vaccines. In return, vets sometimes call me for advice, asking me questions like, “What’s your senior goat protocol? What are you feeding them?” I’ve often been asked to assist with surgery on goats, too,” says Blum. Dr. Claudia Sonder, veterinarian and co-owner of Napa Valley Equine in Napa, says historically, her practice discounted services and only charged nonprofits the cost of goods. This limited the number of nonprofits staff could assist. Sonder currently sees horses and other animals with hooves from Tambourine Vaulters in Petaluma, Sunrise Horse Rescue in Calistoga, Loma Vista Farm in Vallejo, and Connolly Ranch and Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch, both in Napa. Sonder says it is important for organizations that oversee herd animals like horses to place an emphasis on protecting
