As a sparkling wine producer, the family gets an early assessment of the vintage as the base wines for the sparklings get laid down for aging in February. There are 12 distinct cuvées—all estate grown, including three—blanc de blancs, representing different vineyard blocks and three rosés each with strikingly different hues and flavors. This vintage holds two very exciting innovations. Co-pressing of chardonnay and pinot noir, which we are really excited about because the smells are so exotic.
