STUDENT HEALTH POLICIES

IMMUNIZATION POLICY Hodges University does not require proof of immunization for all students. Vaccinations are required for students in certain clinical health programs (students should refer to the program handbook for their specific program for more information). Students must provide proof of the typical childhood vaccinations before they can start their internships and clinical in these programs. If not, they must have a titer run, to indicate if the appropriate antibodies are present.

If a student fails to abide by the placement site’s policies and procedures, the student may be terminated from the site. Students required by their clinical site to have the COVID-19 vaccine must make every effort to obtain the completed vaccine series. Any student required to have the completed COVID-19 vaccine series, but fails to obtain the vaccine may not be placed at their practicum or clinical site. If a student is removed, terminated, or otherwise unable to participate at the site due to their vaccination status, their course progression and graduation may be delayed. Internship and clinical sites may also require a current (within six months) Tuberculosis test, flu vaccine, Hepatitis B, and COVID-19 vaccination. Internships and clinical sites for other academic programs may also require proof of immunization. Any required vaccinations are the financial responsibility of the student. Hodges University does not require its students to get the COVID-19 vaccine or otherwise provide proof of vaccination for admission to the institution.
