There are many occur- rences where liquidated items do not need any transformation in the form of repurposing or upcycling. They are ready to be used as-is. With that thought it’s the pro- cess along with the individual’s and team’s efforts that makes it work. A good example of this is, I may have a relationship but it’s the firm’s character quality and price that closes the deal. This thought applies, I am here really to support the firm not celebrate myself. I like the term marketplace strategy because I feel it identifies a thoughtful approach on how to structure this process. I’ve also found that acting more in a support role and distancing a person’s ego helps to identify the firm’s brand and character thus the brand ambassador. This ef- fort when done correctly offers great benefit to the doer seller where the firm’s stake holders continued from page 11C
he Greater Reading Chambe r Al l i ance (GRCA) announced that the Pennsylvania Indus- trial Development Authority (PIDA) approved two economic development loans at its Janu- ary board meeting in Har- risburg. P I DA w i l l p r o v i d e a $400,000 loan to assist Ran- Shar Farms, LLC with the construction of a duck finish- ing barn, which will be able to produce 247,000 ducks annually, totaling 40,500 s/f. The project is located at 148 Bachmol Rd., Tilden Town- ship. RanShar Farms, LLC is a family-operated farm owned
by brothers, Randy and James Reppert. The farm was previ- ously owned by their parents, and focused on crop production of hay, corn and soybeans. The duck expansion will generate additional income to keep the farm operation in the family. “What great news that PA is willing to partner with a family-owned farm. Their help will ensure that our family farm will be able to stay in the family for generations to come,” said James Reppert. Nevin and Stella Burkhold- er received approval for a $400,000 PIDA loan that will help them with the acquisi- tion of a 102-acre tract site
at 1302 Pleasant Hill Rd., Maidencreek Township, which was the former Pleasant Hill Golf Course. It will be used for crop farming of corn, wheat and soybean production, and will supplement their existing farm operation located nearby in Richmond Township. “GRCA is excited that these two loans will have such an immediate impact on local farming businesses. It re- affirms our commitment to expanding our support for agri-businesses in the Greater Berks region,” said Pamela Shupp, Executive Vice Presi- dent & COO of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance.
