Major Highways Interstate 64 Major east–west highway providing access between Illinois and Kentucky. It passes through Indiana as part of its connection between the two metropolitan areas of St Louis, Missouri, and Louisville, Kentucky. U.S. Route 231 A main north–south highway in the western part of the state. Indiana State Road 62 An east–west route that travels 204 miles from the Illinois state line in the southwest corner of Indiana to the Louisville, Kentucky area, then northeast toward the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Indiana State Road 66 East–west highway in six counties in the southernmost portion of the U.S. state of Indiana. Indiana State Road 66 begins at the eastern end of a toll bridge over the Wabash River in New Harmony and ends at U.S. Route 150 east of Hardinsburg. Indiana State Road 68 A 53-mile route in Gibson, Posey, Spencer and Warrick counties. Indiana State Road 70 Consists of two discontinuous east–west segments of two-lane rural roadway. State Road 70 passes through no cities or towns of significant size. Indiana State Road 161 A rural undivided north–south highway in the southwestern portion of the state. Indiana State Road 162 A 28-mile route in Dubois and Spencer counties. Though an even-numbered route, in practice it is a north–south route for most of its length. Indiana State Road 245 A two-lane north–south highway in that runs entirely within Spencer County in the southwest corner of the state. Indiana State Road 545 A discontinuous route consisting of a northern section and a southern section.
