Hello Delaware, Warmer weather is upon us, and it looks like we will avoid significant flooding this Spring. Road sweeping will commence at the end of April. The Enviro Depot on Longwoods will open on April 26th from 9 am until 1 pm every Saturday until fall.
The municipal office revamp is nearing completion. We will be back in the Coldstream office by April 1st. March 31st will be the last day for payments and queries at the Komoka Wellness Centre. Personally, I cannot wait to get things back to normal. An open house will allow people to tour the new office and speak with Council members and staff. There will be an announcement when we plan to do this. Last month, I recognized the Delaware Lions as being involved in the rink project. I neglected to recognize those residents who also helped with the rink project. These individuals are Mike Lambritch, Ron Rykman, Cory Shelson and Steve Sutherland. Hopefully, I have caught all of those who assisted. I have posted our Speed Radar results on my Facebook page. Canadians are coming together in a wave of patriotism we have not seen since WW2. The Mount Brydges Lions Annual Farmers Night took place on March 6th. I was impressed by the number of expressions of support for Canada, both in talking to people and what they wore. I get queries concerning the crosswalk across Longwoods at Victoria and Springer. The County has approved this and we have completed all the paperwork and allocated funding. The County Engineer will decide on a time frame after the winter season ends in mid-April. I remain hopeful that this can be in place by the end of June. Finally, please check out our recreation programs for all ages across the municipality.
