Our Future

To ensure the Ayrshire Hospice is prepared to meet the needs of our communities long into the future, the Ayrshire Hospice is due to complete a Capital Build Project in excess of £18 million early in 2025.

This project will transform our Hospice, providing increased privacy and comfort while enabling us to continue to deliver exceptional care to our patients and their families.

A new In-Patient Unit features 12 single, en-suite rooms on site, all bright and airy with abundant natural light. Rooms will have large glass sliding doors offering unbroken views over our newly landscaped gardens. The doors will open wide to allow patients—even if still in bed—direct access to an all-weather private patio overlooking the garden. Each room will have its own private bathroom and will have space for family to stay overnight— including the ability to create a cuddle bed so loved ones can stay together. A new Living Well Hub will provide a beautiful and calming environment, offering a wide range of medical and therapeutic support to ensure that patients at earlier stages in their illness can live as fully as possible. An Education and Learning suite, hairdresser, patient gym, and beauty spa all complete some of the new spaces we will have to enhance our offerings to the community and our patients. The new building will enable the generation of income and support efforts to break down some of the barriers around understanding hospice care, with publicly accessible spaces such as a café, boutique shop, and contemplation space.
