Wichita Brewing Company opened its east- side event venue last month. The venue is located at 6160 E Central , formerly home to an Asian buffet restaurant. Wichita Brew- ing Company remodeled the space and has turned it into a 9,000-square-foot venue for weddings, corporate parties and more. The Wichita Brewing Company Event Venue has already booked more than 20 weddings and hosted a country concert. The facility includes a pizza oven, so renters have the option to have Wichita Brewing Company’s famous pizza served in-house. The building is just across the parking lot from the com- pany’s east location.

A building in Old Town will have new ten- ants in the coming months. Antione Agnew and Martin Millis purchased the building at the corner of Douglas and Mead earlier this year and plan to move their two companies into the space after some renovations. Their rental company Fab Homes currently con- trols about 70 rental properties in Wichita, and their new real estate company Agnew & Associates will employ about a half-dozen. The building, 800 and 802 E. Douglas , also currently houses Manpower. Agnew and Mil- lis expect to be moved in by this month.

Chick N Max is expanding its presence with more restaurants and a headquarters. The first location opened in January at Central and Hillside , followed by one at 21st and Greenwich . Now construction is underway on the third location at Fox Ridge Plaza on Maize near 37th , and another is planned for 21st and Amidon , as well as the new Spa- ghetti Works District . The Maize location will be the first with a drive-through. The com- pany is also adding a headquarters in the building at 447 N. Walnut in Delano . Chick N Max hopes to eventually add locations near the airport, in south Wichita and possibly at WSU’s Innovation Campus .

Kansas Perio and Dental Implants opened its new facility last month. The practice moved into a new building at 2981 N. Webb , nearly doubling its square footage. The new location includes six exam rooms, six hy- giene rooms and six surgery rooms across 11,000 square feet. The practice’s former home, the building at 825 S. Hillside , recent- ly sold to New Horizons Dental Practice — Patrick Ahern, CCIM, SIOR of NAI Martens brokered the transaction. The Webb location places the practice close to a number of oth- er medical facilities, such as Cypress Heart and Kansas Surgery & Recovery Center .

Downtown Wichita will soon be home to a new welding academy. A couple from Tex- as who moved here last year, Charles and Jessica Friedrichs , have leased space at 338 S. Ida to open a private welding school. The 7,000-square-foot former warehouse is southeast of Washington and Water- man . Currently the building is being renovat- ed inside and the couple plans to have the school open in September. The couple has already received interest from a few hundred potential students. Scott Salome, SIOR of NAI Martens represented the landlord in the lease transaction.

BizBox Suites opened last month on Webb Road. The 8,000-square-foot building at 602 N. Webb Rd. was formerly a car wash but underwent a renovation to convert the washing stalls to office, warehouse and stor- age spaces. The suites range from 670 to 1,350 square feet. This puts BizBox among the smallest available spaces in Wichita, an attribute the management believes sets the development apart. Leases start at $900 per month.

The first phase of Uptown Landing , a new mix-use development in College Hill , is ahead of schedule and is expected to be completed soon. The first building features about 50 apartment units and first floor com- mercial space. Vora Restaurant European has been secured as the anchor restaurant, occupying 5,373 square feet on the south- east corner of the building’s main floor. NAI Martens’s Jeff Englert , Nathan Farha, CCIM and Ryan Hubbard are the leasing agents for the development.

COMING SOON

Cheddar’s is planning a second Wichita location. The new restaurant will be on the west side, but exact location and details of the timeline have not yet been announced.
