The Sanibel Recreation Center will expand it's hours starting October 2nd. The new hours will be as follows: Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Friday: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Indoor Pick-up Pickleball Stop by the Recreation Center and take advantage of our indoor pick-up pickleball. Paddles and balls are available at the front desk for public use

DOG LICENSES Sanibel Dog Licenses go on sale Monday, October 30th at the Sanibel Recreation Center, The cost of a dog license is $10; proof of current rabies inoculation is required at the time of purchase. Due to the fact that veterinarians are now giving rabies inoculations with 1 to 3 year validity, please give the expiration date on the dog license application form and not the date the inoculation was given. Please remember, we all love our pets, but only service animals are allowed inside the Recreation Center. Additionally, a $5 late fee is charged for any dog license obtained after January 31, 2024. WEIGHT ROOM 101 WITH OUR NEW WEIGHT ROOM EQUIPMENT!
Does your child enjoy swimming? Improve their stroke and endurance by signing up for SWAT (Sanibel Water Attack Team)! Registration is now open for the November session of SWAT. Swim team practice will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for ages 5-18. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted. Registration is paid on a monthly basis. $35 for members $45 for non-members SWAT (SANIBEL WATER ATTACK TEAM)
Free Blood Pressure Check- Sanibel Fire District The Sanibel Fire District has teamed up with the Sanibel Recreation Center to offer a complimentary blood pressure screening on Tuesday, November 28th between 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Sanibel Recreation Center lobby.
Tuesday, November 7th With Connor Russell Signup at the front desk! Weight Room 101 includes weight room orientation, specific instruction on upper and lower body exercises, and cardiovascular training tips. Instruction and guidance on how to properly train your entire body safely and effectively will help participants to gain muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. For safety purposes, this class is limited to 10 participants. Please register in advance at the front desk. Closed-toe footwear is required.

Are you interested in learning Martial Arts? Martial Arts helps practice balance, build structure, and boost confidence. Register today for group lessons with Sensei Gary Thomas, available to all ages. Lessons are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. as well as Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Lessons are paid monthly at a rate of $100 member and $125 non-member. NEW! 13+ Martial Arts on Tuesday and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. as well as Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Family Rate! Families with more than 3 people participating in martial arts will be charged $250 for the whole family. Individuals who would like to register for the program but are only available to attend one day per week will be subject to a reduced fee of $50.

Registration is now open for the November Fun Days on November 20th,21st and 22nd. The program will run from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Enrollment is available for children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Please pack a lunch, swimsuit, sunscreen, towel, goggles, and water. Children will participate in a variety of fun craft activities, games, and swim time!

Free Blood Pressure Screening
The complete reconstruction of the outdoor courts has commenced. The project will include new foundation, playing surface, fencing, nets and posts. All four courts are lighted and will be lined for both tennis and pickleball. We hope to have the courts reopened by the end of the year.
BALLFIELD AND OUTDOOR COURT RESTORATION UPDATE
The ballfield restoration project continues to make progress as we hope to reopen the complex by April 2024. The fields will be complete with new Musco lighting system, shade structures, irrigation, fencing, clay and sod.
