In addition, Kasia Jablonska, Director of Digital and On-Demand for EMEA, BBC Studios; Laura Florence, SVP Global FAST Channels, Fremantle; and Natalie Boot, Global VP FAST, Insight TV, will look at FAST and what it takes to compete in the sector, while Israel Esteban, CTO, BEIN Media and James D Miles, Senior Director, Live Event Workflows, NBC Sports & Olympics, will showcase the technology used to bring the Paris Olympics to an audience of billions. Showfloor Theatres There’s also a whole host of free learning opportunities available on the Showfloor Theatres at IBC2024. The Content Everywhere programme will once again be spread across two stages and this year Content Everywhere has also been expanded to cover two halls – 5 and 14. One stage in each hall will offer discussions and product demonstrations devised to help visitors explore different aspects of the delivery and consumption of content. Sessions will cover everything from advertising tech, app development, CDNs, cloud services, cyber security, IPTV to multi-platform delivery and OTT equipment & services, to personalisation and streaming. Content Everywhere will welcome more exhibitors than ever with names including LTN, Telstra, TVU Networks, Think Analytics and Xperi situated in these halls. IBC esports Zone
projects from manufacturers, software providers, startups and content experts. Companies presenting include Cisco, Sony, Imagine Communications, Ateliere, Evergent, Avid, and Lucid Link. Results of the IBC Accelerator programme will also be showcased here, with eight groundbreaking projects set to be delivered live on stage. Finally, following a successful debut last year, the IBC esports Zone, in partnership with Unlocked, returns for 2024. Expect to uncover the latest innovation in esports production and delivery and hear from industry experts exploring key trends and opportunities at the intersection of gaming and media. IABM, SMPTE, SCTE, IET, RTS and IEEE BTS are the six leading international bodies behind IBC. Meet these companies at the IBC Owner Pavilion by Hall 8 where you can engage with representatives from each of IBC’s owners, arrange meetings, digest specially curated content, learn about all their latest initiatives and find out how you or your company can get more closely involved.
The free-to-attend Showcase Theatre returns to Hall 8 with a packed schedule of strategic content delivered by industry thought leaders. Companies presenting at the Showcase Theatre this year include AWS, RTS and Tata Communications. In addition, Zixi will be talking about the rising costs related to the delivery of video, and the need to improve efficiency and optimise processing requirements, while One Diversified will be hosting a session entitled ‘Media Production Without Boundaries: Streamlined, scalable and decentralised’. The final day of IBC2024 will also see the first IBC Talent Programme taking place on the Showcase Theatre. As attracting and retaining diverse talent, along with addressing various skills shortages, remains a huge problem for the industry, a trio of sessions will explore how these issues can be tackled. Mentoring will examine the role mentorship can play in guiding and developing young people in the media technology industry; Diversity will then come under the spotlight with a session that focuses on developing deliberate and intentional targets around diversity and inclusion in the workplace; finally, Careers in Media Tech will explore routes into the media technology industry, including the pros and cons of each path. Also offering free-to-attend sessions across all three days of the show is the Innovation Stage. Located in Hall 3, this stage brings together a concentrated dose of insights and innovative
