This years’ winners for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region (EMEA) are, Deutsche Glasfaser, Deutsche Telekom and FibreGrid. The IQGeo Innovation Awards recognise the contribution outstanding software project deployments make to delivering broadband digital equity and creating a greener energy future for communities around the world. IQGeo has been honouring customers and partners with its Innovation Awards for the last five years, and in 2024 the company expanded these accolades to highlight EMEA winners. Presented on June 4th at the IQGeo EMEA Meetup in Cambridge, UK, the three telecommunication and utility industry winners were selected for their exceptional project innovation using the IQGeo network management software. The winning use cases range from tactical applications that optimise specific operational processes, to strategic deployments designed to support the entire network lifecycle. Comprehensive lifecycle management Winner: Deutsche Glasfaser (Germany)
broadband operators, having passed more than two million homes with their fibre network. They are using IQGeo’s Network Manager Telecom software as the strategic foundation for a complete network lifecycle management strategy that can evolve with their changing business and technical needs. Outstanding automated fibre planning Winner: Deutsche Telekom (Germany) IQGeo’s Comsof Fibre automated planning and design software plays a vital role in Deutsche Telekom’s (DT) country-wide fibre rollout strategy. DT’s FTTH Factory team has plans to pass and connect millions of homes every year and have embraced automation across its entire technology stack. Its planning innovation ranges from initial AI-based surface classification and trench calculations to virtual exploration and digital construction support. Comsof Fibre’s automation capabilities sits within DT’s FTTH innovation chain, delivering the high-level structural data needed to accelerate business ROI.
One of IQGeo’s newer Network Manager Telecom customers, FibreGrid has plans to rollout fibre infrastructure to three million homes in cities and rural communities across Greece. The solution makes use of existing OSS/BSS data through application integrations and is focused on achieving aggressive fibre rollout timetables. Raf Meersman, General Manager, EMEA at IQGeo said: “While I work with our customers every day, I am constantly impressed by their innovative use of our software and what they have achieved for their businesses. Our mission is to ‘Build better networks’ with our customers and partners to deliver digital equity and a greener future, and this years’ IQGeo Innovation Award winners exemplify this important ambition.
