ANSELL LIGHTING SUPPORTS NORTHERN REGIONAL COLLEGE APPRENTICES
COWI has opened a new office in Dublin to support Project Ireland 2040, the Irish government’s €116bn strategy to unlock investment in infrastructure development and sustainable growth. The new office will house a hybrid team of Irish, Danish and other specialists from the global engineering consultancy, aiming to establish a Centre of Excellence with a team of 50 within three years. The team of engineering experts will support national and international projects, with a key focus on driving Ireland’s green transition. David Feighery, COWI Head of Ireland, said, “As Ireland commits to enhancing regional connectivity, transitioning to renewable energy, and creating climate resilient communities, COWI brings proven expertise from similar successful transitions in Denmark and wider Scandinavia.” COWI’s experience delivering Copenhagen’s metro system, Denmark’s light rail networks and offshore wind projects positions the company to play a vital role in helping Ireland achieve its sustainability targets. Denmark is on track to generate 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with 82% already achieved in 2023. www.cowi.com GLOBAL CONSULTANCY EXPANDS TO SUPPORT IRELAND’S GREEN TRANSITION

The boards allow students to interact with working products and gain a deeper understanding of lighting solutions, while students will also design lighting for a hotel using Ansell products during their
course. Ansell representatives have also visited NRC’s Newtownabbey campus to share their expertise and offer real-world perspectives. Mark Rogers, National Sales Manager for Ireland at Ansell Lighting, said, “As a manufacturer, we recognise the importance of investing in and supporting the next generation of electricians and installers, at a time when there has been talk of skills shortages within the industry. “Ansell Lighting was established in Northern Ireland and so we are particularly pleased to be able to support students and apprentices in the region.” www.anselluk.com
