A well-established fixture in the social calendar of Northern Ireland’s electrical sector, the Electric Lunch welcomed nearly 400 guests to the Europa Hotel Belfast on February 7. Hosted by TV presenter Adrian Logan, the event raised over £40,000 for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) through hosting a raffle and an auction. Guest speaker Jimmy Nesbitt regaled the crowd with anecdotes from his acting career, with guests also enjoying a four-course meal in the Grand Ballroom and a few fun games. The event was organised by EIC’s NI Committee, chaired by Ireland’s Electrical Magazine Managing Director Karen McAvoy. All proceeds go to the EIC, which benefits anyone working in, or having worked in, the energy and electrical sectors in Northern Ireland.

EIC’s support services cover physical, financial and emotional wellbeing including mental health support, addiction, bereavement counselling, legal advice, advocacy, CV support following redundancy and job loss, psychiatric assessments and emergency financial assistance. Further fundraising events this year including The NI Electrical Industries Charity Shield seven-a-side football tournament at Crusaders FC in Belfast on May 16, and Belfast Abseil Fundraiser at the Europa Hotel on October 12. For further information about fundraising events in NI, contact Karen McAvoy on T: +44 (0)7771 524470 or E: karen@kmpltd.co.uk To seek help from EIC, call +44 (0)800 652 1618 or email support@electricalcharity.org
