IEBG NEWS

IEBG has welcomed three new members.

CLONEE WHOLESALE ELECTRICAL, ESTUARY WHOLESALE SUPPLIES AND MONAGHAN ELECTRICAL WHOLESALE HAVE JOINED THE BUYING GROUP, WHICH NOW SPANS 20 MEMBERS WITH 29 BRANCHES… IEBG celebrates its 25th anniversary with three new members

The Irish Electrical Buying Group (IEBG) was formed in 2000 by four of the current members and, in the 25 years since then, has grown into a nationwide buying group with a significant share of the wholesale electrical market in Ireland. Ken Legros, Group Administrator, said, “We now have 20 members with a total

of 29 branches and we are delighted to welcome Clonee Wholesale Electrical, Estuary Wholesale Supplies and Monaghan Electrical Wholesale to the group this year. “Scale is very important in any industry and the Irish wholesale electrical industry is no exception. In 2015, we had only 11 members with a total of 18 branches and

our market share was too small for us to be considered a serious player in the market. “We knew we had to take action if we wanted to thrive so, over the next few years, we added six new members – TradeKit in Killarney, N2 Electrical in Ashbourne, TEF in Tullamore, Southwest Wholesale in Tralee, Abbey Electrical in Donegal and Bellew Electrical with branches in Castleblaney, Crossmaglen, Drogheda and Dundalk. “With the addition of Clonee Wholesale Electrical, Estuary Wholesale Supplies and Monaghan Electrical Wholesale, the IEBG now has branches in 19 of the 26 counties and our geographical spread is a match for any of our competitors in the Irish market.” As a buying group, the main focus of IEBG is to offer its members a broad choice of suppliers across each of the main product categories – lighting, power controls, cable, wiring devices,

L-R: Ken Legros, IEBG Group Administrator, Niall Treanor, Monaghan Electrical Wholesale, Jim Fields, Clonee Wholesale Electrical, Daniel Lehane, Estuary Wholesale Supplies, Michael Treanor, Monaghan Electrical Wholesale, and Peter Curran, IEBG Chairman.

“IEBG now has branches in 19 of the 26 counties and our geographical spread is a match for any of our competitors in the Irish market.”
