contractor and other specialist sub- contractors resulted in very successful collaboration and great teamwork, ensuring all parties worked together to deliver an outstanding project of which Haughey Electrical is very proud. Dunluce Lodge is the latest addition to Haughey Electrical’s portfolio of projects, which ranges from The Rabbit in Templepatrick and room2 hometel Belfast to installations for Thompson Aero Seating’s new dynamic testing facility in Banbridge and Bushmills Distillery’s maturation warehouses. A demanding contract programme, compounded by a change to the design team during the project, were among challenges successfully negotiated by Haughey Electrical Limited during its electrical installation at the new five-star Dunluce Lodge in Portrush. With a significant number of changes made to the works, meticulous organisation and planning by Haughey Electrical’s team of 12 were required to ensure a successful and timely installation. Fortunately, the Glenariff contractor rose to the occasion, benefitting from a good relationship with both main contractor Martin & Hamilton Construction and the many suppliers working on the project. Excellent relations with the main
days, James was the main electrician, supported by one apprentice. The business quickly grew, and James built a new garage to accommodate double stores with an office above, expanding his workforce to around 20 employees. In 1994, James’ sons Eddie and Jimmy took over the business and formed the partnership James Haughey & Co. The business grew exponentially, expanding from mainly housing into the commercial, industrial, health sector, retail, education, hospitality and leisure sectors, and employing around 60 people. In 2018, Haughey Electrical Limited was formed and 2021 saw the offices move into a new purpose-built office with warehouse space.
