This is a great opportunity to see new concepts entering the industry, as well as, a great opportunity to meet with their representatives. What was your favorite exhibitor’s booth: Jersey Mike’s, great subs. How would you describe this year’s attendance: Fair. The night time environment is much better in Philly, than in A/C. Overview of the 2013 PA/NJ/DE ICSC Show: Overall I thought the attendance was fair at best. In Atlantic City, once the cocktail reception is over, everyone goes their own way, and you do not see anyone that you know walking the Boardwalk. In Philadelphia after the cocktail reception, you continue to see people walking up and down the streets and you can strike up a conversation about the industry. Basically it’s an all-night cocktail reception on the sidewalks. I also feel that given the cost of the show, hotel and travel, that we would all get more mileage out of the show if there were two days of deal making instead of one day. Although the round table discussions and SIG’s are very educational, I still believe that most feel that the deal making portion of the show is the most valuable.

Overview of the 2013 PA/NJ/DE ICSC Show: The show was good – retail real estate and deals are undertaking transformations and it is necessary to understand the future. Retail restaurants are expanding. Many retailers are choosing to move into urban locations as opposed to the past trend of suburban expansion. Think you can beat the competition?
