NEA RA Delegate Contract for State Delegates Only NEA State-At-Large Delegates from Georgia will be eligible to receive a $1,250 stipend to partially offset the cost of attending the NEA Convention. These delegates will be required to sign a contract of duties and responsibilities as a condition of receiving the stipend. After the RA, delegates will be required to submit receipts to document the use of the stipend for appropriate business expenses. Any delegate who does not submit the required receipts will be issued an IRS Form 1099 and the stipend will be reported as taxable income.
The Georgia Association of Educators is an all-inclusive Association that presently has approximately 96 percent classroom teachers and education support professionals and 4 percent administrators within its membership. As nearly as practicable, the delegates elected to the NEA Representative Assembly shall closely approximate this ratio. The Winter issue of KNOW will carry statements and pictures of those candidates who submit data to KNOW’s editor. Please note carefully the eligibility requirements for election and voting for each of the categories of delegates to the NEA RA. GAE members desiring to post a statement in the KNOW should limit the wording to 50 words and should include a picture. Any statement exceeding the 50 word limit will have the words following the 50th word eliminated. Statements will be printed as submitted. GAE will not edit statements. Statements and pictures should be emailed to gaeelections@gae.org no later than February 1st. All nomination forms must be transmitted directly to the GAE Executive Director via mail or emailed to: GAEELECTIONS@GAE.ORG
