Les Selects récoltent les honneurs à Victoriaville L’équipe féminine de basketball, les Se- lects de Hawkesbury, ont remporté les honneurs au tournoi la Classique le Lait qui se tenait du 11 au 13 janvier, à Victo- riaville. Le tournoi d’envergure regroupait 140 équipes dans différentes catégories. Pour sa part, l’équipe de Hawkesbury, pilotée par l’entraîneur Carl Denis, appartenait à la catégorie Cadet AA. « Une bonne lecture du jeu, de bonnes décisions rapides et le travail d’équipe, c’est ce qui est ressorti le plus ce week-end », a commenté l’entraîneur-chef, Carl Denis. Lors de leurs deuxpremiers affrontements face aux équipes de Montréal et Saint- Augustin, les Selects ont fait preuve d’une grande détermination et ont savouré deux victoires. L’équipe accédait ainsi à la demi- finale face à l’Assaut d’Amqui. Dès les premières minutes, les joueuses de Hawkesbury ont imposé leur rythme et n’ont fait qu’une bouchée de l’Assaut récoltant une victoire de 63-30. En finale, les Selects ont livré une chaude lutte au CSC de Sherbrooke. Le tableau affichait 42-40 pour Hawkesbury après trois quarts. The Prescott-Russell Little League holds its first indoor baseball winter camp every Sunday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. from February 3 to March 24 at the Plantagenet high school gymnasium.
