Deadline Set For North American Paperboard Packaging Competition The June 1 deadline is approaching for carton manufactur- ers to enter the 80th North American Paperboard Packag- ing Competition, considered by many to be the “Oscars” of the paperboard industry.
sors, the North American Paperboard Packaging Compe- tition is the premier competition for carton manufacturers involved in the concept, design, print, performance, and shelf appeal of paperboard packaging. Entries come from both major corporations as well as small, family-owned box shops yet all are weighted evenly, with the names of manufacturers unknown to the jury. All entries submitted will be automatically considered in the General award category. Award categories include digital application, innovation, and sustainability. All pack- ages must have been sold commercially. A panel of industry experts travels to PPC headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts to spend three days of judg- ing each year’s entries. Each entry is scored for concept, design and user experience; converting; and distribution, fulfillment and retail. The entry fee is $249 per package. Entries not paid for by June 30 will not be eligible to participate. All entries must be submitted by a current PPC member company. In addition to an entry writeup, contestants need to send at least two assembled cartons (one with a product if not perishable) and at least two flats of very size.
