E HOLIDAYS

It’s the holiday season, the most wonderful time of the year! Get into the Christmas and New Year’s Eve spirit with these festive events. There is something for everyone to enjoy as we say goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023.

Tractors and Tinsel Dec 3, 5:30-10:00 p.m.

The Great Stoneboro Fair / Mercer Co Ag Development Council The Mercer County Ag Development Council is excited to host the Tractors & Tinsel Drive Thru “Parade” again this year. Thank you to the community and those that have supported this event in the past. We had a tremendous response last year and anticipate great attendance on December 3, 2022. This event is made possible by farmers, agriculture businesses, and volunteers who generously give their time and decorate farm equipment and trucks at their own expense. Please keep in mind that much of the equipment that appears at this event is used in the day-to-day operations of these farms and businesses. Plan to use the main entrance to the Fairgrounds from Route 62 and follow signs that will guide you around the track to see all of the displays featuring agriculture in Mercer County. There is no fee to attend, but canned goods and donations will be accepted and passed on to the food banks serving our Mercer County communities. Tune your radios to 91.5 for information about the entries as you get close to the Fairgrounds. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service Dec. 24 Saxonburg Memorial Church 100 West Main St. Saxonburg.org/christmas Join the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church as they honor the birth of Jesus Christ with a candlelight service — everyone is welcome to celebrate! There are two services you can attend this Christmas Eve. One is at 5 p.m., a contemporary service with musical performances from the church band. The other is the 7:30 p.m. traditional service, where the choir will conduct all musical performances. Harmony Silvester Celebration Dec. 31 Harmony Square 538 Main St. VisitButlerCounty.com/events/55041-m/harmony-silvester Harmony, Pennsylvania, is known for its German heritage, so the community celebrates its roots with the Silvester celebration in the historical city every year. This event is family-friendly and is a great way to celebrate the new year without staying out late at night. In Germany, the new year starts at 6 p.m. our time, and that’s when the Silvester celebration rings in the new year. The festivities begin at 3 p.m., with the 5K race starting at 3:30 p.m. and the 1-mile fun run at 4:15 p.m. While you’re there, you can go shopping and participate in other festivities. Once the ball drops in Germany at 6 p.m., the town of Harmony will light off fireworks, and the entire community will gather to sing “Auld Lang Syne.”

3. Remember, this is an ongoing conversation. While estate plans may seem final, you can always change your wishes over time. The position you and your family are in at the time of writing may not be where you are when you need your estate plan to go into effect. Therefore, it’s best to review your estate plan at least once a year to ensure everything is accurate. If you have questions about starting or reviewing your estate plan, allow Trinity Elder Law & Estate Planning to assist you. We will be happy to ensure your assets are up to date and your wishes and needs are still relevant and being met.
