An MIT graduate and global leader, he combines operational expertise with top-tier management consulting (McKinsey & Company). His background in corporate strategy, software development, datacenters and computer communication informs his passion for solving customer problems by building joint ventures and partner- ships.

Mike Buckwald, Co-Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, Leap Motion

Mike Buckwald is the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of Leap Motion, a software and hardware com- pany developing 3D motion-control technology. Prior to founding Leap Motion in 2010, Mike founded and ran Zazu- ba, a free appointment intermediary platform, and also served as Chief Executive Officer of Stratics, an MMO Fans- ite. Michael obtained his BA in philosophy from George Washington University.

Praveen Gupta, Vice President, Corporate Investments, Development, HTC

Praveen works as a Vice President of Corporate Investments and Development at HTC and specializes in global investments and acquisitions in the mobile devices, virtual reality, IoT, wearables, and cloud sub-verticals. Prior to joining HTC in 2015, Praveen worked in business development at both SK Telecom and Aptina Imaging. Praveen also worked as an Executive Director and Partner at CDIB Ventures, where he sourced over 500 deals and executed 12 investments with overall significant success. Praveen obtained an MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from Golden Gate University.

Dong-Su Kim, Director, Investments, Samsung

Dong-Su Kim, Ph.D. is a Director of Investment at Samsung Ventures America. He covers semiconductors, displays, renewable energy and "emerging" businesses, which includes healthcare and biotech. He has over thirteen years of investment, strategy, planning, and technology experience. Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, he was a director of Asia Evolution, an investment bank in Korea covering mid-market financing, private placement, and M&As. Before joining Asia Evolution he was a Senior Manager at Technology Strategy Office in Samsung Electronics. As the CTO's staff, he was responsible for strategic venture investments and technology alliance. He also worked in tech- nology planning for Samsung's Telecom R&D center, responsible for discovering new research topics. Prior to that, he was a Technical Leader at Samsung Fiber Optics Business in charge of development of fiber optic components and also managed a technical sales team. Dong-Su has a MA and a PhD from Princeton University in Electrical En- gineering, and an BS with honors from the California Institute of Technology in Applied Physics. Joe Kraus is a Partner at Google Ventures and specializes in mobile internet, payment and financing services, and gaming and local services. While at Google, Joe also served in multiple product management roles on projects in- cluding Blogger, Picasa, Sites, Friend Connect, and OpenSocial. Prior to joining Google in 2006, Joe founded and ran JotSpot, an application wiki company. Joe also founded and led Excite.com, an early Internet search engine, from 1993 to 2000. Joe has been an active angel investor in multiple companies, including LinkedIn, Aardvark, Kon- gregate, and OpenCandy. Joe is also on the board of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF.org). Ajit Ninan, Vice President, Technology Incubation, Innovation, Dolby Laboratories

Ajit is a Vice President of Technology Incubation & Innovation at Dolby Laboratories, where he has served in various capacities since 2008. Ajit is a world class expert in display technology and leads groups developing display sys- tems, laser light sources, HDR ecosystems, and AR/VR ecosystems. Ajit also worked on the team that created Dolby Vision and built the first 4,000-nit HDR display. Prior to Dolby, Ajit worked as a Principal Engineer at Motorola, a Sen- ior Engineering manager at NetLogic Microsystems, and a Principal Engineer at WISchip. Ajit obtained a BS and MS in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Joe Tou, Vice President, US Investment Manager, Sony Innovation Fund

Joe Tou is a Vice President & US Investment Manager at Sony Innovation Fund, an early-stage corporate venture capital fund whose primary focus is to help accelerate and complement Sony’s organic research and development initiatives. Joe has worked at Sony since 2010 and has worked on Sony’s $380 million acquisition of Gaikai, $170 million spinoff of Gracenote, and spinoff of Sony Online Entertainment. Prior to joining Sony, Joe worked at Bertram Capital, Solectron, Pacific Crest Securities, Intel, and Ford Motor Company. Joe obtained a BS in Computer Engi- neering from the University of Michigan, an MS in Operations Research, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
