2019-2020 Employee Council Board of Trustees Report On behalf of the Employee Council and the Classified Staff we represent, we would like to thank the Board of Trustees and President Gaudino for including us in the processes of CWU governance. Membership: The Employee Council is comprised of six classified committee positions, and six executive member seats. Employee of the Month: Central Washington University’s Classified Employee Council and Exempt Employee Association each recognize an employee who fosters a work environment which supports colleagues of the university community as well as the mission of CWU. This award was created so that employees who go above and beyond their normal job responsibilities, who offer unique contributions to their work unit and/or the university as a whole, who have a significant and positive impact on those they work with or come in contact with, and who consistently perform for the betterment of CWU could be recognized for their work. Anyone may nominate an employee for this award in either organization. Along with their recognition, these monthly winners also have received $125 and are eligible to become Employee of the Year. They will be recognized, and the Employee of the Year announced at the Annual Employee Appreciation Awards in May 2020. Last year a new format for presenting the awards was also developed. The new format for Employee of the Month has elevated our outward appreciation of those we honor with this distinguished award. Benefits include the ability to invite family, friends, and co-workers, professional photos, individualized recognition by cabinet members of the winners from their division, catered refreshments, professional pamphlet, an Emcee and a celebration of all staff regardless of classification (classified vs exempt).
