Campaign University Support • Conduct a review of Advancement capacity and role efficiency. Determine where new capacity is needed, where shifts of workflow/responsibility is possible, and match capacity to relationship identification, qualification and cultivation (front line fundraising work). • Conduct a review of School/Unit capacity around administrative function related to advancement activity. The schools/units may need to take on some of the responsibility for communication, scheduling, contact report creation, specific gift/meeting acknowledgement, etc. It’s best to create these processes and practices before campaign work starts in earnest. • Determine University support of Campaign. Conduct an institutional peer review of 3 similar organizations to identify ways Universities and University Foundations have financially supported the launch and ongoing operations of a campaign. • Draft an agreement, to be shared university-wide (post school/unit visioning exercises), that outlines the peer review process, planning strategy and implementation plans of these support protocols. Include a projected budget, against campaign goals and timelines, that will show both short-term and long-term ROI for University, schools/units and students.
