Moxie Pest Control - August/September 2025

Stress-Free Travel Starts Here While taking a vacation is often the highlight of the year, many Americans dread the preparation involved in ensuring everything goes according to plan. You have to find the right flight at an affordable price, pick the best hotel to accommodate your needs and wants, determine whether you need a rental car, and get to the airport on time. The planning process is complex, which can lead to mistakes when packing your suitcases. We’ve all reached a destination only to realize we left behind something vital or have luggage full of wrinkled clothes. Want to erase your packing woes? Start implementing these strategies before your next vacation. CREATE A PACKING LIST. While you can usually replace your phone charger or any forgotten clothes while on vacation, other items like prescriptions are irreplaceable and must go with you. List everything you need to bring to ensure you don’t forget anything. Categorize your list to make it easier to check off, and don’t forget to check the weather before you go. You can always get a raincoat at your location, but you’ll save money by bringing your own! INSPECT YOUR LUGGAGE. Have you ever seen someone digging through their luggage before the baggage drop to see what they can leave behind to Pack Like a Pro

make their suitcase lighter? You don’t want to be in this situation. Ideally, you should use a lightweight suitcase, but if that isn’t an option, do your best to avoid coming close to exceeding any weight limit. You should also make sure your luggage is not torn or damaged. If you bring a carry-on, measure it to ensure it fits in the overhead or under a seat. Having to check your carry-on can be time-consuming. BE INTENTIONAL WHEN PACKING. Your suitcase is essentially a big puzzle, and you have to ensure all the pieces fit together correctly. Roll your clothes instead of folding them to create more space, limit extra shoes or bulky items, and consider using packing cubes to compress and keep them organized. You should also leave room for souvenirs if you plan to pick up a memento on your travels!

BEAT THE HEAT August is Family Fun Month, which means it’s the perfect time to slow down and make memories with the people who matter most. Of course, the summer heat can make outdoor activities feel like a challenge at this time of year. But don’t worry! We still have plenty of ways to enjoy quality family time while keeping cool and entertained. Indoor adventures are a must. Try exploring a local museum like the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix, where it’s indoors and hands-on! For movie lovers, consider a weekday morning matinee at theaters offering summer specials. Indoor trampoline parks, escape rooms, or arcade centers like Main Event in Tempe or Jake’s Unlimited in Mesa are also perfect for kids of all ages. If you’re looking for something more relaxing, have a family game night or movie marathon at home with popcorn, cozy blankets, and everyone’s favorite films. You could even put together a DIY ice cream sundae bar or indoor “campout” with sleeping bags and flashlights in the living room. If you’re craving outdoor time, plan a day trip to the mountains: Flagstaff, Prescott, or Payson offer cooler temperatures, picnic spots, and nature trails. You can also head to a nearby water park like Golfland Sunsplash in Mesa or Hurricane Harbor in Phoenix. FUN FAMILY ADVENTURES FOR AUGUST IN ARIZONA

We’re still in the thick of monsoon season here in Arizona, and that means more than sudden downpours and dramatic sunsets — it means spiders and other pests! PEST OF THE MONTH Stay Spider-Free This Monsoon Season The extra moisture and warm temperatures create ideal conditions for bugs to thrive, and where bugs go, spiders follow. These eight-legged hunters start showing up in garages, basements, and quiet corners of your home, looking for their next meal (and a dry place to hang out). If you notice more webs and creepy crawlers or just don’t want to wait for an unwelcome surprise in the shower, it might be time to take action. Our Annual Pest Control Plan is designed for our unique seasons, even monsoon season. It provides year-round protection, and we monitor, treat, and adjust services throughout the year so you don’t have to think about it. Whether it’s spiders inside or around your home, Moxie’s got it covered.

No matter what you choose, the goal is to spend time together, laugh often, and make it count. Happy Family Fun Month, Arizona-style!
