It was also an opportunity for Housemasters to spend time with their groups looking at how that might work within each House. Fortunately, we were able to run the Year 7 “Be Inspired” afternoon in Term 4 as per normal. The

afternoon saw 200 students from 17 full primary and intermediate schools around Canterbury come together to learn about leadership and hopefully be inspired. College Old Boy and social entrepreneur Sam Johnson was the main speaker. In an enthusiastic and interactive presentation, he talked about his journey, how he set up the Student Volunteer Army, and how everyone has different strengths to contribute to a project in terms of being a visionary, doer, planner, promoter or reviewer. He also emphasised the idea that collective success is more important than a single part. The students then broke into workshops
