The semi-final match arrived, on Upper against CBHS Blue. Parents were able to return to the sidelines following a change in Covid alert level, providing welcome support. The boys had a rough first half but came back strong in the second to redeem themselves and defeat CBHS 29–19. Jack McKeown made a stunning final try at the end of the game, sprinting the length of the field to put the icing on the win. For the final we again faced the Burnside Panthers. Burnside brought their strongest side to the game and we were unable to match their prowess on the field – suffering a gut- wrenching 0–58 loss. The season was difficult because of Covid. The boys did not always train as hard as they could have, and their ability to gel as a team was challenged by a mix of personalities and a rushed season. Despite this, they developed some great skills and finished in 2nd place overall. Notable moments include defeating Burnside with some great kicking from Henry
Hitchings, defeating CFU Gold with three tries from George Rookes, and defeating Medbury with four tries from Jack McKeown. We were joined by Benji Nation and Tom Hodges for several games, and they provided additional support.
